School Accountability Committee

All schools and districts are required by state law to convene a School Accountability Committee (SAC). The statute requires committees to meet at least quarterly to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Publicize and hold SAC meetings to discuss strategies in the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) or turnaround plan.
• Make recommendations to the principal on the school priorities for budget spending.
• Make recommendations to the principal on the school’s Unified Improvement Plan.
• Publicize opportunities for families to serve on the SAC.
