Learning at Rose Stein International
As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) school and a Jeffco school, Rose Stein International Elementary makes learning rigorous, engaging and relevant for students. Colorado State Standards are taught and assessed through direct instruction. They are integrated throughout the six transdisciplinary units of inquiry that each grade level explores. Skills and concepts in literacy, math, science, social studies and beyond are evident throughout each classroom during each part of the instructional day.
Literacy
At the start of the 2022-23 school year, Rose Stein adopted a new reading resource called “Into Reading” by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This resource is grounded in research to ensure every student learns to read and write with confidence.
Math
“Illustrative Math” was adopted by Rose Stein at the start of the 2023-24 school year. Again, this resource is research-backed and supports mathematical fluency for students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Science and Social Studies
Using the Colorado State Standards as a guide, teachers curate engaging lessons and activities that teach science and social studies standards. These concepts and topics, the foundation for our six transdisciplinary themes, are expanded further to challenge students to think globally.
