Academic Support
At Rose Stein, students have access to a variety of academic supports. Teachers meet regularly as an academic leadership team, operational leadership team, pedagogical leadership team and a proactive behavior support team to implement research-based best practices for supporting students at school.
Within these teams, areas of need are identified and strategies can be implemented to support students who may require additional interventions. Many stakeholders, including the student’s family members, are involved in the conversation and implementation of supporting students academically.
Occupational and Physical Therapy (OPT)
This is therapy for students who require self-help skills that may interfere with a child’s educational performance. These can include fine, gross and visual motor skills as well as sensory processing and visual processing skills.
Paraprofessionals
Rose Stein’s paraprofessionals are an integral component of student success. These qualified and caring professionals support students throughout all aspects of their instructional day, both in and out of the classroom.
Reading Interventionist
The Colorado Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act (READ Act) was passed by the legislature in 2012 and focuses on early literacy learning to catch students at risk of not reading on grade level by the end of third grade.
To better support students in primary grades, our full-time reading interventionist works with small groups to target instructional needs.
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Our Speech Language Pathologists work on helping students with a wide range of speech–language-related problems to meet performance standards. Their work includes prevention, assessment, intervention and program design efforts that are integrated within a school.
