Preparing for Middle School
At Rose Stein, we serve two sixth-grade classrooms. This is unique to our articulation area, which allows students to prepare for middle school in an elementary setting. By the time our students enter sixth grade, they are viewed as the leaders and role models of our school. They are offered student leadership positions, attend Mt. Blue Sky Outdoor Lab for a week of hands-on learning and are taught the middle school curriculum.
Toward the end of each school year, Alameda Jr. and Sr. High School and Rose Stein participate in a “Moving Up Day” where staff and students from Alameda visit our sixth-grade classrooms to discuss what entering middle school will look like and what the expectations are.
More information about this year’s Moving Up Day will be provided to families.
